Very good magazine - plenty of great tips and in-depth information on everything you need to know. Only drawback is that the tools available in the US are not quite as accessible here (and often not at all) so product reviews are less relevant sometimes. But there is so much else that is useful that I can highly recommend it.
As for the subscription, I've had the same experience as one of the other commenters here, that the publisher thought I only had a subscription for one year when it was 2. Ivo will sort out those quirks though, so no worries.

I paid for 2 years and after a year the publisher thougt it was only for 1 year...

I find FWW to be a good quality magazine. I am learning lots from FWW; it ties in well with my level of skills and interests.
I wouldn't mind them turning it into a monthly magazine. I really love their website too.

I've received three copies of 'Fine woodworking'so far and every time I am really looking forward to the next copy. Great pictures of furniture and how to make it. Good explanation on wood working techniques.

I already know the magazine since I started my cabinetmakers live about or more than 30 years ago. Always and every time a wonderful experience to open a new edition. The articles, the advertising, the beautiful workspecials, but most of all the fact that I feel so reconized in my sometimes lonely struggle for quality and devotion. We are not alone and very presitant keeping up true appereances. so go one with the good work. Wout de Moor, Netherlands, Groningen.

I have a subscription on Fine Woodworking for about 5 years and though I read a lot of other American and English woodworking magazine's Fine Woodworking is the magazine I like the best. I think they have a good balance in modern woodworking equipment (power- and hand tools) and the more traditional approach. I like that: keep the best from the past and ad the advantages of the new technologies. Every time it arrives I spend quite some evenings reading it! I did build quite some projects out of the magazine. Most of them are within my skill reach but some are simply to advance for me, especially when carving is involved, but still … one has to have something to dream about (perhaps one day I might be able to make such a fine piece…). I also think their shop tips section is really great and practical. So, please get on with the good work!

I've got no expirience with other wood-working magazines so I can't compare. However I don't like it. Far too much handcrafted work which needs years of expierience where as there are tools nowadays which could help a lot in making nice furniture. There is too much "doing it the old way".

Fine Woodworking shows you how to make beautiful furniture.
However, the skills you need to reproduce the same results as the professional are of a very high level.
I did not like the whole lot off advertising but realise this is necessary for such a magazine.
I enjoied reading the magazine for a couple off years and will probably get a subscription in a couple off years from now.
